Faulty Fireplace

Hoping someone can help me, will try to be as brief as possible.
I had a gas fireplace fitted, the gas mechanism for lighting the fire was faulty, the retailer removed it and sent it back to the manufacturer.
I spoke to them recently and they are claiming there was soot in the mechanism caused by roofworks happening on my building (which it wasn't - fire didn't work from the day it was installed and the chimney repairs started after this). They are saying that they have been charged for the repair and are not happy as they do not consider it their fault and that they shouldn't be out of pocket for this.
Despite this they agreed to come and fit the mechanism again. I have now agreed 2 dates for them to come and do this and on both occasions they have just not bothered turning up, no phone call to say they weren't coming or why, leaving me to phone and organise another date.
I am hoping they will come and do it eventually but my question is what can I do if they don't? I have already paid in full and don't think starting an argument with them is going to help the situation, do I just need to phone again and hope they turn up on the 3rd attempt?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Tell them if they fail to turn up on the next appointment then you will be charging them as you have no holidays left from work. So only unpaid time off.
