Npower want £2100 over the year total £3354

Hi,

I am desperate need of some advice. My mother is terminally ill with cancer and I am now looking after her energy bills.

Npower sent my mother a bill for £1059 back in June for dual fuel. I contacted them and provided meter readings ans this was then reduced to £765. Which I paid. I then received a bill for £1518.04 on the 16th August and I have been disputing since. I have asked for statement of account several times and have only just received it yesterday. Each time I talk with them the bill increases, and now stands at £2100.

I have given meter readings numerous times via phone and online.

They then booked for our meter to be replaced to a prepay one, which I was furious with. My mother is too ill to be able to use one and its not fair. This is a Npower mistake. They have made monumental mistakes which they have apologized for but they still have not got to the bottom of why the bill is so high.

3 people live in a 4 bedroom house and live very frugal. We are very energy efficient. I know this bill is wrong but I am finding it very difficult to work out as I am also very ill.

I have managed to get a block on the forced prepayment meter install for 10 days by paying £700 of my own money. I have signed up with another energy supplier in my own name as my mother has moved out she is to ill and the house is to cold due to the ridiculous bill.

My question is can I stop Npower replacing the meter if the account holder no longer lives there?

I know there is a thing called energy debt-block, but that should only be for the account holder and not a new account in my name?

I want to get this sorted but what I don't want is a prepay meter being installed.

Please, please, please can someone help. Sorry if this is hard to understand, I'm at work and having to rush. I have also spent in total close to 10hours on the phone to Npower sorting this out.

Thank you all for taking the time to read.

Kind regards

Stewart
