odd text message

Don't know if this is to be posted in techie or mobile phones section, i think techie...

I have a nokia c3 touch screen. I was looking through my 'sent' texts to delete some, to make room, when i saw a text that simply said the date (not as usual, recipients name) (sunday) and 'text message'. I don't know what this is it wont let me open it and if i hold down on it a box comes up that says 'call recipient' and 'delete' it wont let me do either. does anybody know what this is.?

Another thing, as I keep so many texts until i've taken the useful info, i thought it a good idea to get a big memory card (thinking that if i did this then i'd be able to recieve or send pictures without having to delete lots of texts. however it seems to have made little difference except for allowing me to save more new pictures to it, again I'm confused as to the actual function of the new memory card? i am guessing here but does it only take 'memory' of new phone contacts to store and new photos to store and/but the messages only are able to be stored to the actual phone and not the extra memory card? I'm not very techie, infact i took half an hour to be able to get on the forums as when i came on mse it appeared that everything had been changed around and the forums where not as they used to be then suddenly i found it, how to acces it but in a different place....is it me??

  • Your SMS/MMS will still be stored to phone memory but the memory card will handle the large files you place on there like Photos, MP3's etc.

The C3 only has 55MB of internal memory so i would suggest saving any photos in picture messages to your memory card to create space. This should give you a bit more headroom to play with.

The memory card does not store messages

Its only for storing Music, photos, videos etc

If you want to store the messages? download and use Nokia Suite on line with a PC/laptop

It might be a sms sent by the phone to your Provider or one sent by an app to verify/register your phones unique ID.

So their might not be any "user readable" content in the sms other than a string of encrypted / obfuscated text.

Oh I see, ( i think...) but how could a message have been 'sent' without me sending it? or is it something automatic do you mean? i.e. its done it itself? (as solitaire suggests) but being as I can't read it or guess what it is I might as well get rid of it but how ? would the only way be to delete the entire lot of messages so it would get deleted like that or would it be best to do as 'ballyblack' suggests?
  • Have just tried to download the nokia suite, using that link, but my comodo security stopped it and the security message came up saying if i downloaded it then nokia would have unlimited access to my computer? so what does this mean? i did notice there was an option to limit nokia to their access to my computer as well.
