All valid points. However, how much pollution would workers be exposed to if there are perhaps 3 members of a family who have all been smoking like chimneys right up to the point the worker steps over the threshold?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Who cares how much, not sure what you're getting at OR what your point is?0

That's a very good point. Personally I don't smoke indoors when I'm expecting workers/non-smoking visitors, however I know lots of people that carry on regardless. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass

Yeah...my MIL, which is the reason I dont like taking my kids to visit her.
I thought this had been a rule for a long time now that you shouldn't smoke if you are expecting workers in.....maybe it has taken longer to come into effect down there?

Going slightly off topic - I heard on the radio the other day that prison warders would not be protected when the smoking ban comes in because the prison is classed as the inmates home and therefore they prisoners could smoke if they wanted
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

I'd like to see them stop the patients on Psychiatric units from smoking....0 -
My mother & parents in law all smoke.
I cannot tell them not to smoke in their own home, but I really don't like visiting, my nothers especially smells awful:eek: .
After I come home from my mothers I can smell it on my clothes, I have to shower & change, it makes me feel sick.
Believe it or not, I am an ex smoker, we all are DH & DD too & we all hate it now.0 -

That is the plan from 1st of July in our Trust. Not quite sure how well it will work, but the ward manager is quite determined to enforce it.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
My nan smokes around my dd even though i have asked her not to. I remember once when my dd was 3 weeks old i left her in the car with my nan whilst i popped into the shop, came back to find my nan puffing away with all the windows closed and my 3 week old in the back! I told my grandad and he went mad!!
My mum started smoking around my dd when she was about 2, her reasoning, that it didnt matter now she was 2 it was only when she was a baby!!! Hence why we rarely visit!
I think smoking around people you dont know or have come to your house is rude! I know some say that they can do what they like in their own home but i think its common courtesy to not smoke.
If i went into someones house on business and they smoked i would leave. Im an ex smoker myself and i didnt realise how much it smelt...0
