Keeps crashing when I use the search function (Google or Bing or...)
"Internet Explorer has stopped worked"
The only recent change has been I uploaded a more recent version of Avast antivirus. During the final step, I realised it was loading Google Chrome (hate it when software gives you stuff you didn't ask for!), and I interrupted that.
Avast loaded/works fine, but IE has this problem now.
Suggestions how to remedy?
edit :
Windows 7
IE 10

I usually use Firefox but lately i've had to switch to IE 'cos firefox kept saying 'not responding', i was even having trouble turning it off when that happend.
I've just been removing add-ons in Firefox and everything appears to be working now.

There is a "preview" version of Internet Explorer 11 available if you want to try it.
Seems a bit quicker than 10 but nothing out of the ordinary.
Soon switched back to Firefox [STRIKE]22 23[/STRIKE] 24
