Postage exclusions reset?

A while ago I made set my ebay postage locations to the UK only (ie I excluded other countries).
However, tonight someone from Portugal has won one of my items.
They've requested a invoice with international postage, and this time I'll oblige, but I'm a bit confused as to how this happened.

Any ideas?

  • I always block the same countries, but I now find I have to do it on each listing whereas it used to remember where I'd blocked and block them for every listing.

So it could be either they were never blocked or ebay glitched. Or perhaps the buyer has a UK address or something so got around the block?
  • It's weird, because I went into my settings, and all countries other than UK are excluded.
I hit apply again just incase.
Just hope the buyer doesn't mind the postage price!

have you also set the 'don't allow bids from countries you don't ship to' and also made sure the listing shows no International post allowed.

For the former - do you mean in the listing? Or in my settings?

I thought that once you'd excluded in your site preferences it was then applied to all listings?

As for the latter, I only include UK postage options on my listings.

The main exclusions are in the seller preferences but the no International postage is activated by making sure ebay have not defaulted back to International postage on each listing, even if actual figures are not shown.

I have all my exclusions set up but when I created a multi variation listing non of them carried through - fortunately I noticed and manually input them again.
