I recently opened an account and tried the web portal to see how to use it .

It times-out very quickly and won't let you back in unless you close down Firefox completely and lose your other open tabs or windows - annoying . It's done it twice so far . Just deleting their cookie won't cure the time-out which is weird .

    I'll keep you posted .

same with internet explorer as well, only way u can relog in is to close IE windows and reopen IE

I, too, have recently found Principality's site unstable. Some sub-links work only from specific pages (eg to reach online messaging). Strange, also, there isn't a 'Log-in' option on the Home page. Re my recent experience of a pre-2.30pm BACS arriving on banking Day 4 (instead of Day 3), the Society failed to respond to my specific question ''What is the cut-off time?''. Good rate, though, at 5.85% gross.

doesnt it reinforce my belief that someone is better off with say nationwide e-saver paying 0.30% gross less, in knowledge funds can be moved to flexiaccount and visa versa instantly with no additional loss of interest after initial funds paid in.

The problem there is that while Flexaccount transactions CAN be post-dated, e-saver transactions can NOT, which may entail the loss of the higher rate of interest paid on the e-saver, due to 'early' transfer (or having to remember later transfer to minimise lost incremental interest).

For example if I am aware TODAY of a Flexaccount transaction due two months hence, I do not want to have to process an e-saver transfer TODAY to cover that, but to do it nearer the time. However the NW system does not allow a date to be put on that; it has to be actioned there and then (or 'there and then' but later).

guess the answer is for :money: to create a MSE diary :rotfl:

Disappointing indeed. My method in such circumstances is to write in my Future Diary a brief reminder for (or just prior to) the required date - eg :

''Nationwide - IT £250 today from eS to ch a/c''

The diary (in pocket or on-screen) is also useful as a reminder for maturity dates re monthly savings accounts - especially if auto-transferring to low-rate interest upon anniversary. Personally I'm happy using a plain Text file I entitled Diary, rather than using fancy software.
