Parking Eye Charge Notice
DippyTink
hi, new here and this is my first post.
i have received a parking charge notice from parking eye and am unsure as what to do now. i have read through other threads but am looking for some advice as to what to do and where to start, please.
it is a free carpark, for 1.5 hours - i overstayed by 23 minutes, having been delayed by my 19 month old twins.
the charge is for £85 but if i pay within so many days, it will be discounted to £50.
i was driving the car, but my partner is the registered keeper (we live together)
Any advice on what to do will be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Same as on every thread now - appeal (in the name of the registered keeper, not naming the driver) and complain to the Management where money was spent.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

You need to appeal to them on this, say anything about parking like not seeing the signs, not giving an adequate grace period , but also that the charge doesn't reflect their pre estimate of loss, so it's a penalty. Enclose any copies of receipts (keep originals safe)
Once they reject as they do normally then they must give you a popla code to appeal to them, come back here for help on that, we win 100% of the time. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

OP - was this at Aldi by any chance? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Grace period, as per the BPA Code of Practice to which the PPC is signed up. Here's the relevant BPA CoP extract:Grace periods
13.1 Your approach to parking management must allow a driver who enters your car park but decides not to park, to leave the car park within a reasonable period without having their vehicle issued with a parking charge notice.
13.2 You should allow the driver a reasonable ‘grace period’ in which to decide if they are going to stay or go. If the driver is on your land without permission you should still allow them a grace period to read your signs and leave before you take enforcement action.
13.3 You should be prepared to tell us the specific grace period at a site if our compliance team or our agents ask what it is.
13.4 You should allow the driver a reasonable period to leave the private car park after the parking contract has ended, before you take enforcement action. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
