Corfu Accommodation Recommendation?

Hi - am travelling to Corfu next Sep for 10 days - can anyone recommend any type of accommodation somewhere near the beach, not too rowdy, maybe a little bit more upmarket than most?

Don't mind hotel or self catering....but a bit more than 'basic' which seems to crop up a lot in what I've been looking at already.

Kassiopi has been mentioned but open to other suggestions!

Thanks!

Dassia is quiet and beautiful. We stay at Dassia Chandris, a stones throw from the beach, bliss x

I love Kassiopi, it has a beautiful harbour to wander round, with boat trips if you want, loads of fantastic coves, many bars and restaurants, it is typically Greek and has no high rise buildings.
I can highly recommend the Solaris apartments which are right in the centre of the town, but so quiet. Have a look at their website www.solariskassiopi.com and have a look at the virtual tour round Kassiopi.

Kassiopi sounds like what your looking for, self catering doesn't have to involve any catering as Kassiopi has fantastic bakeries for snacks and masses of decent restaurants catering to all tastes. There are beaches, plenty of other things to do like a day boat trip to Corfu town (worth it for both the Forts), hire a small boat for the day and take a trip yourself and so on.

I have been there many times and its one of my favorite places ever as its so friendly and chilled.

I have booked at this place next summer although I have not stayed there yet I know where it is and its been doing phenomenally on Tripadvisor (well apart from the very last review but that looks picky to me!). Have also spoken to other who have stayed there and I am satisfied it will be even better by next year as the owner is very proactive. Booked via Thomas Cook as really good price with flights (clearly heavily discounted in a package compared to booking same flight independently).

  • Kassiopi is lovely as is Paleokastritsa, Messonghi, Aghios Stefanos in the North west(sometimes known as San Stefanos), which has a stunning beach.

  • Another vote for the Chandris at Dassia. Lovely hotel, good food and a regular bus into Corfu Town.
    Normal people worry me.
  • You should get a better response by posting the same question here http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowForum-g189458-i363-Corfu_Ionian_Islands.html you will also be able to research any hotels or apartments as well
