Only on higher education, not on school discount.

bought on Apple Education - about £120 more than buying at standard US price.

We do get ripped off here, why should the standard price here be so much higher than anywhere else??

Don't forget to add the local sales tax to the US price.

What about the Apple UK refurbished deals? As new IMO.
Plus look on ebay for Applecare, you have up to a year to get it and make sure you buy an actual pack posted to you, not a code sent by email.
Applecare for my Macbook was less than 1/3 the Apple price and worked fine.

Add 20% VAT onto the US price and see how big the difference is.
US states all charge different amounts of tax so any price you see is what we would call a VAT free price. Once you add VAT on the US doesn't usually look so good.
