My son likes posting videos on the internet. He uses moviemaker but thinks its rubbish and wants Vegas, the problem being its about 300.00:eek: Does any one know of any free/cheaper ones he can use. I've seen Vegas 6 but will it work as he has a new computer with vista and its still alittle steep at £50.00 anyway.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Review from Amazon:Vegas 7 installed and worked fine with MS Vista, with some minor problems. However, Sony warns that Vegas 7 will never be supported on Vista, not even in a future minor version 7 update. Sony says on their web site that you need to wait for Vegas version 8 to get full MS Vista support.
But the bigger issue for me was that Vegas 7 Platinum doesn't work with the new AVCHD codecs used with my new Sony HDR-SR1 High Definition hard disk camcorder. I waited to purchase Vegas Platinum until I saw the new Vegas 7e update available that supported AVCHD, but the update turned out to only be good for the much more expensive Vegas 7, not this Vegas 7 Platinum which still has no AVCHD support, and won't until version 8.
I wasn't able to install the DVD Architect on Vista, but I didn't care at this point since I can't edit my files encoded with AVCHD.
What I was able to do on video editing tutorials and samples was easy and a lot of fun to use. The software gets great ratings in many other in depth reviews by others around the web with greater video experience than me.
I'll wait for Sony Vegas Platinum version 8 which is due out at the end of July 2007, which supports both MS Vista and the new AVCHD codecs. I'll have to junk this Vegas 7 Platinum software as a total loss, which is why I gave it only 3 stars.
If it was for important course work, I might have put my hand in my pocket to help out for a license, but.....
