Starting to get worried after reading reviews of horrendous lines at immigration at JFK

Anyone transited recently between terminals 4 and 2.

we arrive at terminal 4.

I know we have to collect bags and go through immigration, but there are conflicting reports on how to get to terminal 2.

bus on the security side (go back through security at terminal 4) or a train after immigration and go back through security at terminal 2.

I cant find any mention of where to drop bags or to keep them with us until we get to terminal 2

any help appreciated..we fly tomorrow and we have about 2 and half hours

You have to go through immigration control as soon you get off the plane. Then you can collect your luggage, then go through security in Terminal 4 and catch a delta shuttle bus on air-side to Terminal 2, they leave every 10 minutes or so.

I think the shuttle is around gate 20 or so in Terminal 4. I don't know how you would drop off baggage though.

To help bypass the queues at JFK, it helps if you are sitting at the very front of the plane to get ahead another 150 people, but of course that doesn't always work if you arrive at a busy time. It worked for me when I was flying in and arriving rather late at night.
