Gift idea help - jewellery

I'm looking for ideas/ recommendations if anyone has any.

I need a present for a friends 40th birthday. I like the hand stamped jewellery that I've seen online, but am reluctant to just pick a seller out the hat.

Also, I'm not sure what to get. With the stamped jewellers I would like to get something with her family's names on, but they're trying for a second child which at the moment isn't happening. I want to get something that has space to add a second child's name if one arrives, but that doesn't have an obvious space if second child doesn't happen, if you see what I mean.

Also, I only have a budget of £25.

Am I asking too much for the money I've got? If so, any other ideas?

    Maybe something like this...?

Could add further initials/stones later on if they do have more children.

The hand-stamped things are lovely but I think with the uncertainty over the final shape of their family it could be tricky to manage right now.

Should add - I haven't used this seller and am neither recommending or not recommending (iyswim)!

ETA: also just noticed these from the same seller:

Look at notonthehighstreet.com. Can choose price brackets.

I'd prefer to receive a bangle to a necklace, but that's probably personal choice!

Really iffy about the choice of having 'family' related things. I'd make it personal to just her as a person, not as a mum (especially the way things currently stand...).

Let us know what you choose! :)

(Have used hi-ho silver website before - that was okay too, but you always get nice things on NOTHS site!)

Unless you know that she would definitely like something with their names on it, I'd steer clear of it.

Tastes vary a lot - if I got a present like that, it would stay in the jewellery box.

I mean something for HER. Not something with her kids' details on. Not something with her name or anything on. Talking about just jewellery for her, not stuff with actual personal things on. Sorry if taken to mean that!

I realise that - it's the OP who was thinking of something with their names on it.

It didn't come over clearly but I was agreeing with you that something for her - as a person - would be the way to go.

Ah okay - thought the first line was in reply to the OP and the second in reply to me! No worries :)

  • Haha love the discussion!!

Thank you, I'll look at those links tonight. Yeah I guess the 'family' theme idea might be a bit tricky. I was also thinking of something on a 'friendship' theme but couldn't think of any nice quotes small enough for this type of thing.

She'll know you bought it for her - I know I think of the people who have given me jewellery when I'm wearing it - so just go for something you think she will like. She will know it was given with love out of friendship.

There's so much choice out there, you could be in for a long night looking! :)

    Try Inspired Karma on Facebook.
She personalises items and can stamp pretty much what you like on any of the items she does.
And this is a personal recommendation, have had 6 items from her for Christmas gifts
