Huawei Ascend G300 Won't Boot?
I have one of the above which won't boot today. It is Vodafone branded, but unlocked and used on giffgaff.
When powered on, it displays the Huawei logo and then the Vodafone splash screen, but won't load to the Android home screen, and the controls won't respond. The only way to clear it is to remove the battery to power it down.
I've tried a hard reset, using the 'reboot system' option, but the same problem occurs on reboot.
Haven't tried the data wipe and factory restore option yet. Is there anything else I can try first, or is that my only option now please?

The standard 2 year warranty is your friend here! Worth ringing them for advice anyway.
Edit: 0207-2667700 is the number I rang. Very very good service and they work it from your IMEI number so no need for a receipt etc.0 -
Thanks. Yes, 24m warranty. I bought mine from Isme, so that's presumably my first port of call. However it's not the same problem as yours. PCB is not dead as it will power up OK, it just won't load the Home screen.
I'm just checking as to what else I can do before doing a factory reset (which I guess I'll have to do anyway before sending it back)? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I reckon bypass Isme and go straight to Huawei tech support (they work from the IMEI number and anyway the G300 isn't a 2 year old device so they are all still under warranty!) The guy i spoke to was very helpful, got me try a few things which didn't work so immediately booked it in for a repair under warranty. Back a few days later and fully repaired (worked flawlessly ever since). Really brilliant service on such a low priced phone (12 months longer warranty than on an iPhone!). The fact it's unlocked makes no difference as those unlock codes are officially generated by Huawei themselves.0 -
How do you intend to do a factory reset if Android won't start ?
Or are you saying it happens sometimes ?
I've had it happen on mine and as you say just pull the battery for a second and that fixes it...til the next time0 -
You can do a hard reset (hold down power and volume up buttons), and then one of the menu options is to factory reset it.
However, since my original post I've restarted it a few times more and now it won't power up at all, so it's going back to Huawei for repair. Thank you both for the advice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
