How to get Android Marketplace on Archos 7o Tablet

My daughter was having probs with her tablet, she couldn't get any of the apps to work and it kept saying that there was no room, even though she had deleted most apps.
It seems that she has restored to factor settings to try and get it to work again, however Android Market Place is no longer on there.
From memory we had to download Arc Tools to be able to download it but just looked and it says $1.99 to download.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to download the marketplace app for free as we don't want to make any payments using her tablet.

Android market place migrated to Google Play for the main, check you have not got an icon in your apps called 'play store'
Other wise there are places to find an installable copy of the Play Store app but I couldn't mention them!0 -

No, there isn't a play app but I did log into her play account via google on the tablet.
I chose an app to see if it would download and it did show phone or archos 7o in the drop down menu, it said downloaded but nothing shows on the tablet so not sure what I am doing wrong.0 -

After downloading you need to run the downloaded *.apk file. After doing that it will install the app.0 -

Sorry, not technical at all, where would I look for that on the tablet please.
Tap on the message in the notification area, where it said that it downloaded successfully. That should start the installation.
Otherwise you need to start some kind of file manager (no idea whether you have one installed) and navigate to a folder called "download". Then tap on the downloaded file.0 -

Thanks, I will try again later when she has finished with it.
