Options
Hey Folks
I'm new to the VIP world and I'm loooking to start usuing one instead of a landline, can anyone tell me which is best value?

I know everyone and their granny use skype, but I've been hearing good things about the tesco service.

Any help would be great!

If as you say everyone and their granny use Skype you'll find everyone you know on Skype and use it to make free PC-PC calls. You can also call landlines (Skypeout), sms, chat online and hold video calls.

If you wish to call more landlines then one of the Betamax companies may suit your needs, you can use these for PC-PC, PC-landline or landline-landline calls, these also offer a number of free calls, pc-pc chat, sms and voip-in numbers. See one of their numerous sites such as internetcalls.com voipcheap.com voipbuster.com etc

The Betamax companies no longer offer "voip-in" numbers. I use voipcheap.com with a Voip adapter which accepts incoming calls from the standard PSTN line which I choose to retain for reliability for the present.

So even if I lose my voip service (power failure, ISP outage or whatever) I still have the land line as an (almost) seamless backup. You still get the benefit of potentially large cost savings for outgoing calls.

    Cheers from Mike
