The only reason i thought id close it, was to maybe reapply in say 3-4 years time, maybe from a new address when i move in the future, and hope that they offer a classic account? And then at least id have access to a range of products from then.
Do you think this can work?
Possibly - try this and let us know if it worked!0 -
Doubt it as bank's tend not to like people who default against themselves or group companies - they keep records for up to 12 years.
If the Barclays or NatWest accounts have been open more than year or two then just transfer the TSB to one of those or another provider.iAMaLONDONER wrote: »Possibly - try this and let us know if it worked! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Close it down.
As long as you hold a cash account , lending will always be restricted.
You can certainly try for Classic later on, but that Cash account is like CPD forever.0 -
Am I in a time warp?0

Way to bump a thread that probably isn't relevant any more as Lloyds TSB doesn't exist.0

Account has been transferred to TSB now.
Yes ive moved everything to another bank. Will be closing my useless TSB cash card ac soon, but only holding onto it as it has the longest CRA history.
Will try again in afew years time if need be.0 -
I hadn't even noticed that it was from last year.
Technically it does as it's just changed it's name to Lloyds Bank.
iAMaLONDONER was obviously bored.anotheruser wrote: »Way to bump a thread that probably isn't relevant any more as Lloyds TSB doesn't exist. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I thought if i could have a classic account then my rating would improve with the bank for future reasons
I used to think this too till I wasted over 9 years with Nationwide! They finally let me have a normal (flexaccount) just under 2 years ago, then last year they finally allowed me an overdraft. However they won't raise it or allow me any other form of credit, even a cheque book! I never even had bad debt with them. I'm convinced it's because I started on thier basic cash account as no one else would give me a full account at that time.0 -
I have just done that with the nationwide as well but I have had no luck opening a account with any one else with a cheque book not really want to open another cash card and wait for an up grade as I fell it would not happen it seems my 1800 pound a month I pay in is tinted0
