Hi All,
I notice alot of people selling cars on ebay put a disclaimer stating 'car advertised elsewhere so i reserve the right to remove from auction'.
My question - if i list a car on ebay & people bid on , but i then sell it outside of e-bay - how do i remove the listing? what si the situation with final value fees etc ect.
any help greatly appreciated.
regards

Technically you shouldn't advertise things on ebay if they are being advertised elsewhere, but it is one of those things that everyone seems to do, especially with cars.
You cannot just close an auction on ebay once you have bids but you can remove all the bids manually and then close the auction. Your only problem would be if by some horrible co incidence you sold the car privately right at the end of the auction and didn't get the auction closed in time, but that is highly unlikely.
If you close your auction before it finishes then you won't have to pay any Final value fees.
Just make sure though that you do close the auction if you sell privately otherwise you end up in a rathe runpleasant situation of having two buyers and only 1 car with the ebay buyer able to leave you negative feedback.

HI Huggins you can just end the auction early as long as you have no bids. if you have got bids you will need to cancel them first (and send a poilte e-mail to bidders explaining why) and then close. you wont have a fvf as you wont have had any bids.

You can only remove an item early if there is 12 hours or more remaining
