I’m off to a boot sale tomorrow to (hopefully) make a few quid.
I’m selling a couple of silver plated vases. However, they are very tarnished and need cleaning. I don’t want to go out and buy silver cleaner especially for them as I have no other silver that I could use it for.
Does anyone know of any household product that will clean silver?0 -
In the Cleaning section of the MEGA Index at the top of the Old Style forum listing are some recipes that will help you. I inadvertently found a silver cleaner which works amazingly well. I steamed some grren beans and put the saucepan to one side with the steaming water still in it. I left a silver serving spoon half in and half out of the water and the half that was in emerged gleamingIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Hi Squeaky,
I looked at the index before I posted and couldn't see anything. I've just looked again and I've found it.
Lemon juice and baking soda is the stuff apparently. :T0 -

If the lemon juice and baking soda doesn't work - I'll try this as I have a few leftover green beans in the fridge.
Thanks0 -
