What warrenty??

Options
My daughters Lap top got stolen in june, in a vain hope that someone would try pawning it or it would turn up in a house rain somewhere, i did not cancel the extended warranty for it.
Had ment to do it after we got back from our holiday, to be honest, didn't know we could until just before.
Contacted the comany on the 2 Oct, gave all my details etc, and was told they would be back in touch with in 72 hours. over a week went by, nothing so called again. No record of my call what so ever, so had to go through all the gumph again, at least this time things got going, or so i thought. Sent them the photo copy of receipt as requested, just had an e mail from them. This is what it says

We have received the proof of purchase that you sent for the warranty and thank you so much for that. We were trying to locate the warranty on our system so that we could give you a refund and cancel the warranty however we were unable to pull up any information for the warranty because it was not purchased from us. We, that is Squaretrade, started selling our warranties in Tesco from the 15/10/2012 and since your warranty was purchased on the 02/10/2012 you will need to contact warranty group at 08450750405 and they will get it sorted out for you.

WT.................?

So that means more expense, we dont get 0245 numbers free, and does any one agree that I should put in a complaint to tesco? or should I wait to see what happens? Hmmm, think maybe that, they might decide i have no cause with them, if that is the case, would we be entitled to a full refund, and not a partial 1, due to tesco selling what they didn't supply? granted, its over a year, but had laptop not gone we may not have know until say the day prior to it runniing out.....

What do you guys think?

Have you tried searching the number/company on:

    www.saynoto0870.com ?

They have a database of alternative landline numbers you can call to keep down call costs/avoid paying through the nose.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Look at Saynoto9870 for an alternative number and ring when your calls are free if you have free calls within your package.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I know this is MSE, but I never understand this attitude. You're paying ££££ for something useless and will continue to do so until it's sorted, but quibble over a quid or two to do so.

Firstly, it was paid in advance, secondly to some a few quid can make all the difference. The item in questiong was purchased in better times, right now every penny is accounted for and reserved before it even gets to the bank.

Still if money is that tight it's worth paying £2-£5 on a phone call to get the money refunded that is probably considerably more. The alternative is not paying for the call but also not getting the other money back.
  • But thanks to a heads up from others, no pennies spent
