  • The person I bought it from said they bought it used to.
  • I've twice had to get an i device fixed under warranty where I was not the original purchaser, I had no problems with Apple at all. One of the devices had even been bought in the US, the UK Apple store replaced it without an issue.

So to recap you say that as I'm not the original purchaser apple can just keep the phone and it's tough for me?

Where have I said that? Of course they can't just keep it, I am just offering a suggestion as to where it could be and how it may be with them but with mixed up details.

I was trying to help you by suggesting that you could ask them to check under the other persons details, one quick phone call could solve the whole problem and you could get the phone back whether fixed or not under the warranty terms.

You are reading this as if I am accusing you of something, I'm not I'm trying to help you.
  • I have called them twice, 1st time they said they just needed to send an email as it hadn't been entered on the system properly, 2nd call they said they hadn't got it and I need to provide info before they will even start an investigation.

I will send them the details of who I got it from incase they did register it.

Apologies for misreading your earlier posts. I'm just getting frustrated with apple.

If that's the stance I would still expect the broke iPhone to be returned to me. Not fixed.

Whoever signed for it should have checked what they signed for, the delivery was tracked and received what has happened since only apple know.

So to recap you say that as I'm not the original purchaser apple can just keep the phone and it's tough for me?

Apple aren't keeping the phone, what you said earlier was the box you sent them arrived empty...no?
  • Hi, no a miss understanding I think I said apples system is still showing my repair as sent box, meaning sent box to me for shipping my phone back.
I sent the phone back and the tracking shows it was delivered.
  • Ok Apple have just called me back and are passing this over to the internal team to look at, though with no original proof of purchase they are not sure it will even be looked at.

    Surly this cant be right?

The person I bought it from said they bought it used to.

Do you have any proof at all then as to when it was bought, where it was bought, and whether or not it was registered by the owner before the one you bought it from?

Clearly they cannot just "lose your phone" but I would be really be surprised if they have any responsibility to repair it.
  • Nope non, even the Lady I bought the phone off says she won it on ebay.

Though to be fair the repair is the least of my worries now I'm happy getting the broken phone back as thats still worth £££.
