Fixed tariffs are £300 than I pay per year.
Hi
I use £1026 per year, roughly breaks down to £540 gas and £486 elec. I'm seriously unwell with a chronic illness and the bills are difficult to pay. I've gone through the MSE cheap deal fixer but the top picks for me are Npower and EDF, both of whom have DIRE customer review. Being disabled, I have enough to cope with besides an energy company being stroppy and unavailable.
I've 'phoned around and can't get any help, anyone out there with some advice?
Scottish Power (current supplier) are offering me 8% discount for 3 1/2 years fixed if I go DDebit. Should I go for that or save the £200 offered by the above companies?
Sorry for the inconvenience, but if anyone could help I'd be so happy - and relieved.

Scottish Power are excellent for customer service compared to NPower or EDF - there's no two ways about that.
The only thing I'd say is that if you want to have reliable bills, take a meter reading on a specific date each month. I take mine on the first of each month, but that's easy since I moved house as the meter's are much easier to reach than in my old house.
But by taking meter readings monthly, regardless of the company you go with, it will be largely okay as you'll have a list of readings over the year from which you can calculate.
Monitor it all online and everything will be fine and you'll know exactly when you're underpaying/overpaying.0
