Windows Vista not working on secure wireless Network?

Hi,

Recently purchased a new PC and also a laptop, both on Vista.

I have previously used a wireless network without issue with my XP machines, using a secured network from a Belkin modem/router.

The new machines will not work using the secured wireless network, i enter the network key but just will not connect.

If i change the network to unsecured they both connect without any issues and work perfectly*confused*

Am i doing something wrong here? could the modem-router need an update?

I obviously need a secure wireless network, dont want to leave it as an unsecured.

Ideas anyone?

How many firewalls are you using? there could be a conflict there. Also try using a different chanel on the router. My Vista laptop works fine with wireless connection.
Don't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best

Just because it's free don't mean it's good

    Ditch Norton Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wall:

Just Because you read it some where don't mean it's right ;)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Perhaps a different encryption key may help you resolve this, try alphanumeric characters only.

If not, then there may be some compatibility problem with using the wireless adapter software on Vista, check the Belkin website for the latest Vista software if any.

What settings are you choosing on this screen?

It's probably going to be a mismatched key, or encryption type.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
