Hi due to complete in one week. lovely area and normally very quiet. The house we bought is standing empty and has done for a good two months since the rental on it ended. The previous people who were renting moved not far away and now their ******** (you know what the stars mean lol) kids have started coming round and trying to break in, they broke the garage and the vendor got it sorted. they broke the patio door handle again he paid to get it sorted.
Now two nights ago they were booting the front door...... police were told but obviously by the next day when they came the crime was not 'in progress' (no really lol)
Just wondered what could be done, vendor has said he will switch electric on and go around and put lights on and close curtains etc. Just a bit annoyed at the moment!!

That's a tough one, unless the vendor will give you keys early to make it occupied?
Ask the vendor if he/you can take round a radio or old TV - if you leave it on a station with lots of talking they might think someone is there.
Go round with a car full of boxes one evening and move them in - even if they are empty. Make sure the kids see you doing it.
Leave your car (alarmed!) on the driveway and use public transport for a week.Addicted to Facebook

This is an awful situation and I sympathise
I would suggest either setting up a couple of cctv cameras on the house
cost : about £100
(these can be used by you anyway when you move in)
or getting security shutters fitted (like the ones councils/HAs use when they evict tenants and the property is left empty)
cost : about £60 per month (depending on size of house)
good luck0
