Purchased with Credit Card refunded through Paypal

I purchased a courier service with Parcelmonkey on my credit card.
The courier company Citylink lost the item.
I had to fight hard to get compensation back from Parcelmonkey but they eventually compensated me through Paypal.
However, they asked me on two occasions for my paypal email address; the first time I refused and I questioned why they want the Paypal email address when I did the initial transaction through my CC. Of course, they didn't reply.
They asked me a second time for the address and I gave it to them thinking it'd make the whole process go quicker.
Anyway, like I said, they compensated me through Paypal but of course, now I'm wondering if this was the right move given that I can be subject to chargeback at any time for any reason..?

Of course that risk is there, but are you really expecting that to happen?
Anyway, to late now isn't it, or are you going to send the refund money back?
i think you are worrying unnecessarily.
Edited to add:
Was the refund done as a paypal gift?
If so, I do not believe it can be claimed back.0
