I lost my job a few months back.
After chipping through some savings I decided to list some high value items with a website that sells second hand designer goods.
I listed a handbag and the bag was purchased. I sent the bag to the buyer incurring postage costs myself.
The bag was received on the 14th August 2013 and I was paid out by the site minus their commission.
This lunch time I have received an email from the website stating that the lady who purchased my bag wants to return the item as it did not contain authenticity documentation as described in my selling advert.
I included all documents but i'm aware that there is no way of me verifying this as it will really come down to my word against hers.
The website have asked me to open dialogue with this woman and sort the matter out.
To say i'm slightly annoyed is an understatement.
On the website it states that buyers have 7 days to notify sellers of any problems.
Are they able to do this?

What website?
Did your advert say you would supply 'authenticity documentation'?0 -
Thanks wealdroam
The website i used is called hardly ever worn it.
I stated in my advert that I had all original documents for the bag which included the original receipt, authenticity card, original box, dust bag and packaging.
But, I included all of this in with the handbag when I posted it to the buyer0 -
How did you get paid for the bag?
If it was via paypal then you should be okay as the time in which a dispute can normally be opened has passed (although it does sometimes happen that paypal allow late disputes).
If I purchased something and it was delivered with items missing, I certainly wouldn't wait almost 2 months before complaining and I wouldn't be surprised if the buyer has either lost the documents or used them to sell a different bag and now wants a refund for the bag that you sold.0 -
I know it doesn't help you with this but if you sell anything else keep a photocopy of the documents and a photo of them in the bag ready to package and send.0

No point in doing that at all, all it proves is that at some point you took a photo of the documents in the bag, it doesn't prove they were still there when bag was sent out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What you describe as an authenticity document, what exactly was it?
Is she disputing that a card isn't a document.
What was the value?0
