What tumble dryer do you have?
What type is it?
How much does it cost to run?
How often do you use it?
This is all.

I have a washer dryer...no idea how much it costs to run,we rarely use it. in the 6 years we've had it its probably been on a handful of times only.
even if we had the space for a seperate dryer,im not sure I would bother with one...but each to their own!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
I have a beko condencer, and at current electricity prices its costing aprox £8-9 per month to run with it going almost daily0

Some old Zanussi that we bought in the 1980s.
No idea how much it costs.
If weather is dodgy we dry in our 25' conservatory. DW then tumbles a few of items to get a better finish, apparently.0 -
i think an average drying cycle costs about 40-50p0

Hotpoint TCM580P condenser dryer. Can't fault it in any way. Dries clothes perfectly and can take a full 8KG load. Has two heat settings and a very large water reservoir bottle. The fluff filter is very easy to clean.
I have no idea what it costs to dry a full load but it's a very small amount as I don't even notice it during the Winter months when the dryer is used the most (going by my electricity bills).
Being a condenser dryer it doesn't need a vent so can be positioned anywhere you have a flat surface.
It's used two times a week on average. Less in Summer and more in Winter.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -
I bought a White Knight 38AW cheapo from Tesco about 7 years ago for £80 and it is still going strong.
I use it 3/4 time a week.

Thanks for the replies.
Not sure if I'm going to get one or not. Space is the trouble as I was going to get an American style fridge/freezer (side by side version), then I'll be able to get rid of the 5ft fridge and 5ft freezer, which are pretty old and stick a dryer in next to the new fridge.
However the doorway to the utility room is just 58cm, which means a no go for new fridge, which means no space for tumble dryer.
I guess a dehumidifier it is! Boo.0 -
We got a White knight several years ago, used every other day.
Beware the "A" rated markings where it's only "A" rated if you run on low temp for hours rather than a higher temp that dries quicker.0 -
I've got a White Knight, had it donkeys years. I have no idea how much it costs, but I don't believe they are as expensive to run as they are made out to be. I use mine whenever it is too wet to peg out, so some weeks that's daily.0
