Email Problem

I have received an email in response to an advert I have placed in the local paper however when I try to reply it changes their email adress from smith-john@sky.com to john-smith@sky.com and I get an error saying that person doesn't have a sky account!!!

Is there anyway round this as I don't want to lose a potential sale!

It sounds like they've done something strange with the "reply-to" settings in their email account.

When you reply you should be able to remove the email address and just manually type in the correct address. Or start with a new email instead of replying.

Do be sure to have your wits about you as classified ad responses are an easy way to get scammed! Just a warning.

I've tried typing the email address myself so I know it's definitely right but for some reason when it sends it changes over!

Check that the name has not gone into your address book with the 'wrong' email address.

Turns out that even though I got a failure notice the email had gone through!

Am confused about what happened but at least it got there I suppose.

Sounds like they might have a forward on their email to an address that's no longer active. You reply to mail, it hits their mailbox and sends a mail to the other one - and that generates the return email
