According to the terms of the account you'll need to - not too sure how strict they are on this though. It does say if you don't they can close the account or change it to, I assume, a standard current account.

I'm doing the opposite with everything paid into it and then transferred to a second account including the full £1500 overdraft. I've yet to hear anything.

From what I was told as long as the loan is paid into the account that's all that matters. Where it's transferred to or paid out for after it's paid in doesn't matter.

    ha Santander student account.

I was on a long 6 year degree and they bloody withdrew my student status before I finished and asked my previously free overdraft back, and started charging me for it when I was too busy with studies to pay it back. Nearly ruined me!

Had to take time out because of the loss of student overdraft, and whilst I was out they converted me to a non student account and started charging me large fees. !!!!!!?

liars! and I've still heard nothing back from them about this having written to them about it 3 times.

watch Santander, not that banks aren't all crooks anyway. And this is why I cant stand Jenson Button and co anymore. (Paul Di Restas the man , anyway)
  • Hi, this may be a stupid question but just want to triple check before I opt to open this account! Am I right in saying that I won't pay any fees at all if I'm in the overdraft? As long as I don't go over the overdraft amount?
    Thanks!:)

Overdraft is completely interest and fee free as long as you remain within the limit
