Philips Sonicare HX6930 & Diamond Clean Brush Heads

Hello,
Approx 3 years ago I purchased 2 Philips Sonicare Flexcare HX6930 electric toothbrushes, one each for my partner and I. A couple of months ago when I went to purchase some new heads, direct from Philips, I discovered they were out of stock, however, the Philips website stated that the Diamond Clean heads were compatible so I purchased these. They did not appear to fit or work as well as the Flexcare brush heads and within a matter of days of using the new brush heads BOTH toothbrushes ceased to work. I find it hard to believe that this is a coincidence. Philips are not interested in looking into this, I have found their Customer Service very poor.
If anyone has had a similar experience or can offer any advice I would very much appreciate it. I am considering having both toothbrushes examined by an electronics engineer to ascertain the cause of the failure.
Many thanks
