MSE's free Cheap Energy Club: My Tariff isn't listed
I don't know if anyone can help, but I've tried joining the MSE free Cheap Energy Club. I've started to enter my details but it doesn't list the Scottish Power tariff I'm on namely:
Online Fresh Start - Monthly Direct Debit
This is apparently Scottish Power's cheapest tariff (so they told me last time bills went up). I'm currently paying:
Electricity
Ex VAT:
Daily Service Charge: 21.18p
All/ Day Units (per KWh): 10.735p
Inc VAT:
Daily Service Charge: 22.24p
All/ Day Units (per KWh): 11.272p
Gas
Ex VAT:
Daily Service Charge: 21.94p
All/ Day Units (per KWh): 2.704p
Inc VAT:
Daily Service Charge: 23.04p
All/ Day Units (per KWh): 2.839p
I don't know how this compares to other deals/ if someone can add this into the tool so I (and others) can do the comparison.
Many thanks,
Cliff

Fresh Start is a social tariff. This isn't available to people on the free market, it's a tariff you can qualify if you are on certain benefits and/or can demonstrate genuine financial hardship.
If you leave SP there is no guarantee you will get onto another providers "hardship tariff". Not only that, these tariffs are, by their very nature much cheaper than anything else on the market, the energy company will generally be making a loss on these accounts.
It could be worth investigating what other suppliers have, but IMHO, just stay put.0
