Change of account signatory

Options
Hello,

I own a flat and I received a proposal from our Management Company to become a signatory director. This would allow me to sign off any expenses from the bank account which is used for my neighbourhood.

I was given some “change of account signatory” forms from Santander to fill in, however I am concerned that by signing such an agreement I might become liable for any type of financial issues

Could anyone help me on whether I should sign up for this or not?

Thank you.

  • If the management company has an overdraft you become jointly liable along with all other signatories in the case of a default.

If it was me I would want to know all financial obligations of the company before signing.

How can I make sure that if I sign I won't be obligated to anything if it goes financially bad with the company?

On the forms it is specified that I would own 0% of the company, does this have any influence on my position?
