    You have officially been schooled.

What annoys me is why you think you have the right to judge anyone who bought more or profited more than you as greedy.

Sold mine first thing. Yes, the price has risen further, but equally it could have fallen, and I'm well pleased with 30%+.

Shame it was only £750 though (I'd applied for £3k)
  • If you hold on to your shares you can expect to receive a dividend worth around £45 a year, rising year by year

If you do this then it would make sense to hold the shares in a S&S ISA so you don't pay tax on the dividends.

you sold at £4.58 on Friday out of the kindness of your heart and your concern that the person who bought them might still have some profit left to make

This rocks some peoples minds but there is a mutual benefit to capitalism, incredible but profit and positive business can occur in one transaction.

My broker wont let me short RMG, something to factor in

the strike will have minimal impact and has already been priced in, in fact it was even in the prospectus
  • The possibility is priced not the actual effects. The whole usa gov mess is priced in apparently but not the worst possibilities, of course that is their whole threat and leverage

My feeling is that the big institutions may now take a back seat for now awaiting the outcome of the strike action and the price will by governed by the small sellers.

Your feeling seems to have been incorrect Mable.
Far from taking a back seat the Royal Mail shares have been Bullish all day, those that sold today got a better price than the top price given on Friday!
