I will look on it as an error on my part. Past experience of credit whether they be cards or catalogue accounts, usually add interest under one amount / name, not TWO... Obviously Vanquis like to be different!0

One interest charge is for the previous statement balance, and the second is for the interim purchases (since they are no longer interest free because the previous statement balance hadn't been paid in full).. so they are possible showing how the interest is split between last statement balance and interim transactions..0

If you just pay the statement balance the account will not close as there will be trailing interest on the next statement.
I really don't know why you are complaining the card company have done nothing wrong.
Pay the card off and next interest payment then leave the card in a drawer for an emergency.
Some day it might come in handy.0
