SAR letter help

Hi I'm new here but I hope someone can help. I'm in the process of sending of the sar letter from the template on here. At the top of the letter under name, it asks for account numbers. Sorry to come across abit thick here but is that the account number of my current account with sort code or the three account numbers from previous loans I'm claiming about?

Hope someone can help and thanks for reading.

Mike

it's the loan account numbers...you don't need a SAR unless you don't know the numbers or are checking to see if you did pay PPI.

If you know your account numbers and you know you paid it, just make a complaint.

    Hi thanks for the reply

Yes I did pay ppi and I do know the account numbers however on completing the questionnaire it it's asking for information like what was the purpose of the loan, which was consolidation for all three loans and who and how much dI'd I owe money to. I wasn't sure of these answers as the 3 loans in question have all been settled around 2007-2008 and started from 2005-2007 and I no longer hold any paperwork.

I thought a sar would provide agreements our something else to help me complete the form from the bank. Am I mistaken? If so should I still fill in the form leaving anything blank I'm unsure of? I thought that would hinder my chances of success if I leave answers blank.

Any help would be appreciated as I want to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

    Many thanks

in which case, why are you doing a SAR? A SAR is done by people who dont know if they paid PPI or not and it is one method of finding out. If you know you had it then you dont need to do a SAR.

You can go straight to complaint giving your reasons for complaint.

  • Ok thanks so even though I can't remember all the information on the form it will not hinder my chances of success. Is there a complaint template on here and does anyone know the right address for Barclays for mis sold ppi?

    Thanks again
  • Hi
I've got policy and account numbers for 3 loans dated from 2005 to 2009 so even though I don't hold any paperwork due to these loans ending should I just go straight to a complaint letter or use the questionnaire Barclays have sent?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

    use the questionnaire.

A SAR wouldn't show you the purpose of the loan anyway. If they were consolidation loans then the purpose of each loan is clear, it was to cover the previous loan and give you more psending money or clear a different debt.

If you can't remember an answer, you write 'can't remember', so it's not blank :)

  • Ok thanks taff I'll do that I'm not holding my breath for success here but I'll give it my best shot. If they come back with a no then surely then I can refer it to the fos.
Have you heard of anyone with similar circumstances that have been successful?

    Thanks again.
