Bedding covers - cat hair proof?

Getting a bit tired of having my bedding covered in cat hair as it sticks to it like hell and turns into little hair balls almost impossible to remove.
Apart from not letting cats on the bed (impossible) what can I do?
What bedding do people use?
When I had kind of silky/satin type - hair was not sticking to it BUT it feels rather cold (for me) so....
Any ideas?

I have a cotton patchwork bedspread I put over the bed during the day (I leave the duvet airing over the top of the bed during the day) and at night I leave it rolled at the bottom of the bed for them to snuggle on.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Thanks but my hairy lot sleep with me at night so covering the bed day time is not quite going to sort the hair issue out0

I can't stand the satin type either, so have a fur ball next to me even when she isn't there......and the breaking into my wardrobe so all clothes get covered on the odd occassion.
I have tried to hoover her as I used to with a past dog but she ain't having any of it....someone needs to invent a cat-hair-magnet, where as soon as they leave the cats body they magically attach themselves to said fabulous magnet.
I could make a fortune.
She doesn't like it if I try to stroke her with sellotape wrapped around my hand either....lol
That wasn't much help was it really.........as of yet, there is no cure.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Ugh! Pet hair in the bed. And it always end up in your mouth! Yuck! My dh used to let the dog on the bed and the hair was so much of an issue for me that I moved into the spare room! (plus the farting and licking his nuts in the middle of the night, dog not dh, although on reflection.....). Seriously though, no, no solution as far as I know. Bailie's not allowed upstairs so not an issue now but she sheds all the time (a Lab trait, apparently) and my nice white kitchen floor is always covered in short black hairs. Maybe somebody could invent a spray like what you use on Christmas trees to stop them from dropping needles everywhere? I used to threaten the last dog with putting him in a black sack and tying it up round his neck!
I've found that a damp rubber glove picks up a lot of hairs. It sort of rolls them into clumps and makes it easier to pick off.
Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid....0 -
Expert to the rescue!
My duvet covers are satiny on top, but with cotton underneath......so hairy on one side!
I SWEAR by these things

You can cover large areas such as duvet covers quite quickly and it rolls the hair into lumps which are easily removed. I always sweep the covers thoroughly before going in the wash as this stops the hair being spread even more!
The sponges can be used on any soft furnishings, or even hard surfaces and gather hair from anything. When they get a bit grubby and not so sticky, a good wash in soapy water refreshes them completely.0 -
I have a couple of cheap sheets that I just throw over the bed - mine are polycotton but could get the silky type for non-stickability. I swear by the CarPet for brushing up hair http://www.besteverpethairremover.co.uk/ and then bung the sheet in the wash when it gets too many paw prints on it.0

I use either a damp sponge or a lint roll.......Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I find my brushed cotton sheets or Egyptian cotton sheets don't attract the hair like the 50/50 mix sheets you can get.I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

that is a good point.....my better quality Egyptian sheets are far easier to sweep hair off than the cheaper ones I use sometimes. Will be putting brushed cotton on today so will compare that version later!0 -
Yes- Egyptian cotton does seem to repel the hair rather than attract it! I wonder how my Flannellette sheets will do when I change over to winter bedding?0
