London Marathon 2014 - Finish line Hotel advice

Hello,

I'm looking for advice on where to stay for the London Marathon 2014. I definitely would like my hotel to be 'near' the finish line, rather than the start, however I'm aware that's a particularly expensive area of London.

The Crowne Plaza St James won't be cheap but is near the finish line. There is a Premier Inn at Victoria which will be a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute tube journey from St James Park tube station. Already the Premier Inn hotels near the starting points are booked up and you are unlikely to find a cheap hotel on that Saturday night near the finish line or along the route.
