Kitchen fitting - how much?

Options
We've had quotes of around £5k for supply and fit from a couple of companies, but to save money we're going to buy the units and possibly either fit them ourselves or pay someone to do it for us. How much could we expect to pay for fitting of units/worktops and integrated cooker/hob?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hubby has just fitted a b & q kitchen for £650 if that helps, about 10 base units, sink, 12 wall units and a bit of tiling.

We've just had a quote in today for ours - £1600 to include removal of old kitchen, fitting new, wiring 2 double sockets, power for all appliances (washing m/c, tumble drier, integrated oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer), plumbing the sink, machines and fitting hob and extractor.

I would say this is overpriced, however I guess it depends on your location. My hubby has fitted kitchens for 25 years and it's rare that a quote exceeds £1000, his average is around £700 - £800 mark. Electrical work has bumped prices in recent months with the necessity of having to have works certified, however you appear to have very little electrical work to do. My advice shop around.

I do love to see a spammer squeal, well done Woby_Tide :-)

Though pointing out his folly without his address may have been best.

You too, have judged and prosecuted me as well have you!
I can tell you this much I am not a squealer or indeed a spammer and I take exception to that, like I said before I would only try to help people in the spirit of this web site, the fact that the particular site was built by me for a client and by diverting somebody to the site does not render me one penny. You seemed to be obsessed with having a go at people without actually trying to help anybody yourselves!
