Chives for omelette
Curry powder for curry and as a rub for fish
Chilli flakes to mix into tuna for sandwiches or salads, for chilli con carne, for omelette, for home made soup
Cinnamon for porridge
Basil and Oregano for spag bol
Thought i'd share this recipe with you today. I made it last night.
Spicey rice soup:
Saute a few chopped onions in a pan with a little oil if the non stick coating is dubious...
Add two cartons/cans of chopped tomatoes
Add fresh or dried chilli and basil
Add 100g rice
Add half a pint of veg stock
Bring to the Boil then simmer for about an hour
The rice sucks up all the moisture and you're left with a wholesome tasty filling and healthy soup. Yum!0 -

About the best value dried herbs and spices are in Aldi, not a massive range but certainly worth getting.0
