Lentils/beans/pulses

Sachets of cooked microwaveable rice in case you come down with norovirus and are too weak to cook! This happened to me and my neighbour had to bring me a bowl of rice so now I always have some in the cupboard for emergencies.

Last time I was poorly, I found a tin of chicken in white sauce in the cupboard which the kids had with some rice so at least they had a decent meal. It isn't something we usually eat but I was grateful to have it in the house.

I always make sure I have a variety of baking bits so that I can make cakes/breads/pizzas. Packaged foods like falafel mixes etc are handy to have as well as plenty of the basics like tinned toms.

This is something I am going to have to think about over the next few weeks.

Aside from food loo roll and a full medicine cabinet are essential for me.
