Backup of Windows Live Mail

Hi,

Please can anyone tell me how I can backup all emails within Windows Live Mail so if my laptop failed I could retrieve all emails in folders I have as well as emails in the inbox and sent items.

In Windows Live Mail ... click the drop down box near the top left corner and select Export Emails and follow the prompts.

with live mail as it is part of live essentials and relies on you being signed in using MS login details then if you have to reinstall on a new PC/Laptop etc. then as son as you set up the email account it will retrieve all your inbox, but thats all. does not retrieve sent folder or any custom folders

Does the original poster know whether his mail is accessed via IMAP or POP?
And/or who provides your email? (the bit AFTER @in your email address will tell you).
