Battery light not working after MS updates

I have a HP Presario CQ61 notebook PC laptop indows 7 home premium.

Following MS auto updates, the battery light's not working, I've uninstaaled the updates, rebooted, and the light works, however, on shut down the updates automatically reinstalled, and again, the light's not working.

Battery charger is working currently at 98% charging.

Any suggestions

Possibly the Power Management software.

Tried that, still can't get battery light to work
