Can I claim for unauthorised od charges from 2006-2009?

Hi, I'm 27 now. Between around 2006-2009 I was at university and pretty poor with my finances; I must have paid £1,000 in unauthorised overdraft charges (they were about £30 a pop!) over my first year or two of study.
My finances are in decent shape now and I haven't had any kind of charge like that in a long time.
However, I'd like that £1,000 back. I closed the Halifax account I had which received them a couple of years ago, but still have a record of what the details were for it.
Can I claim? If not, then I'll shred the remaining documents and forget about it; but it would be criminal not to pursue that cash if it's an option.
Thanks

No, the banks won the court case.
The only way on claiming charges is under the financial hardship case, but you must be in current hardship (which you aren't) and most banks will only go back 6 months if that.0 -
Ok, so I can shred this document with details on that old account in the knowledge that there is no way I could possibly get that money back; and forget about it?0

Yes, that's correct.0
