Best online storage for backup photos

Hi

I backup photos to seperate hard drive as well as keeping them on laptop, but realise that if both fail/stolen etc, then we would lose those memories

We upload photos to Facebook, but apart from saving each photo individually, I don't think there is anyway of downloading them in bulk

So looking for:
-FREE!
- Large online storage as photos add up quickly
- likely to be around for a long time so don't have to move/reupload
- Quick upload/download

Thinking Google Drive? but no experience with it

Google drive is easy. just install the app to your pc and set your pictures folder (or wherever you store your pics) to be synced to the google-drive.

One thing about google drive is that if you upload pics you can touch them up using picasa. (google also has an auto enhance feature that automatically makes a copy and touches up pics to get the best out of them origional files are kept safe and sound)

    go here:
    https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos

I'd suggest flickr.com , since it is a photo storing website.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

I've got mine going to flickr as well, G+Photo is a bit easier to manage generally dat to day between desktop and mobile uploading.

Flickr is great for portfolio and organising pics once you have the time to sit down and use the site properly

Also I'm on an old "Flickr Pro" account (they no longer offer this option) so I've unlimited space to upload pics New accounts get 1Tb limit.

Thanks for this - how are Google Drive and Flickr at downloading back to your computer if ever needed?

    1TB seems like a winner!

Also how quick are they at uploading?

with google plus you can select files to download. Google then goes away and handily sticks them in a zip file for you to download. Never used the download option on Flicker i only ever downloaded pics one at a time from there.

upload is depended on your internet connection. ADSL will be slow as you'll have 1mb or less upload. Fibre will be a LOT faster.
