UKPC - epic incompetence

  • Hi all,
So far had an auto response from the website submission and two individual responses to the extra emails I sent with the supporting evidence which I requested a reply back from. My question is how long do they take to acknowledge and assign a hearing date
    Regards

    Peter

Ps I'm also in process of composing an email to BPA outlining UKPCs constant failure to follow the CoP

Let's put it this way - if a West End show had as many forward bookings as POPLA, it would be described as a long run.

It would also be described as a success - hmmm :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Hi folks
    Just a quick update.
Today I received 5 letters from UKPC cancelling 5 tickets.
Ticket 1 was canceled because they failed to follow time limits with appeals ie no response to my appeal within 35 days
Tickets 4,5,6,7 all cancelled for being issued incorrectly ( parking in a marked bay without a permit, when it wasn't a marked bay)
Still have no.2 which is with POPLA and no3 which is identical to 4 so will wait to see if another letter arrived.

As a note the letters were all dated Wednesday last week so from the timing I'm wondering if they've received the POPLA appeal or they've been looking at the forum. As the appeal made no mention of other tickets with different reasons

Also last Thursday evening I fired of a strongly worded email to David metcalf ops manager at BPA about the huge list of breaches of the code of practice by UKPC. So we will wait and see what happens

    Regards

I wouldn't be surprised also if their tickets and Notice to Keeper letters were not compliant as well. I saw a UKPC one on a thread here today which was misleadingly called a 'Charge Notice' (no 'Parking' in the title!) didn't state the contravention, didn't ID the creditor, was sent late and didn't mention to the keeper that if they failed to name the driver within 28 days they would become liable under POFA. And yet they continued to pursue the keeper with debt collector letters mentioning POFA!

  • A further update:

After contacting BPA all tickets have been cancelled however I'm not happy despite listing all the breaches of the CofP for them there answer is tickets have been cancelled, I won't get anymore problems, investigation closed.

I'm fuming how incompetent can they be they haven't address anything, I shall be replying to them and asking for a full explanation to all my issues raised.

    Grr

No wonder these Ppc cowboys get away with it.

It's a win and I expect the PPC knows they screwed up. Well done .
