    Case in point.....
That's one of the most ridiculous, serious posts I've yet seen on these boards.

Those on strike were not hell bent on destroying the industries, but I would assume you would rather they worked purely to throw some crumbs to their children in place of a normal meal at tea time. Afterall, they couldn't afford much more, hence why going on strike.

Feel free to thank me with your "Complete Nonsense" username, which is rather amusing, but rather worrying that you are spending so much time doing this sort of stuff.

But this is actually a blessing in disguise chucky, would you like to empty the bins? Me neither.

This about sums you, and others up really.

Seeing jobs, or other people as below them. Whether it's the young, the poor, or anyone who should disagree with your sense of enourmous entitlement and pure greed....they will all be put in the same basket....below you.

Thing is, you often stoop so low trying to make out you are better than others, the hypocrisy of it seems to pass you by.

    Angry? No.

I just have a hell of a lot of respect for people who do the sort of jobs chucknorris refers to to put a meal on the table for their family.

Referring to these workers as having lower intelligence and therefore beneath you just shows you up for what you are. IMHO.

If you think and outwardly suggest you are better than others, there's little chance you actually are.

Hey, I just don't want to empty the bins mate, in my time I have done equally what people might call 'lowly' jobs (labourer, petrol filling station attendant etc.), but I have reached a point in life where I don't have to do that anymore. It doesn't mean that I look down on those that do. So I suggest that you pick your rattle up (it's near the left wheel of your pram) and move on.

Could have fooled me with your response to chucky which quite clearly shows you suggesting those with lower intelligence are useful as they clean the bins.

If you want to wind back and try and suggest you made some random post stating you just meant you didn't want to empty bins while throwing some abuse around, be my guest. It's amusing, if nothing else.

Don't go down to his level. He's looking to disrupt the thread from Hamish's points. This way the valid point is hidden in his muddling. It's his standard routine.

    Exactly.

    Now back on topic.

Why aren't the places with the cheapest land and house prices now the places booming?

After all, for many years the bears have told us that cheaper house and land/building prices mean cheaper employment/operating costs and greater competitiveness.

Houses, land and commercial premises are seriously cheap in many parts of the UK.

    Why aren't those places booming?
