Look at Aldi's recipes on their website.
I've made the mincemeat muffins and the mincemeat christmas cake. The mincemeat could be laced with brandy before using in the recipe and the frosting could be used to decorate the top of a cake.
There's another one on there with a marzipan filling which I haven't tried yet.0 -
I did a black forest trifle for Christmas a couple of years ago and it went down a storm - it was a bit like a huge version of the black forest gu pots you can get in supermarkets with boozy cherries, chocolate cake, a mascarpone cream and topped with chocolate ganache.
It looked and tasted gorgeous - you could do a big one in a nice glass trifle dish or individual ones in little ramekins, depending on what works for you.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

Hi
How about sticky toffee pudding ? BBC food has a good easy recipe. The sauce is easy as its a mixture of muscavado sugar, butter and cream melted together. I serve it with icecream.
