Daily comps slowing computer

Help!
When I do the magazine dailies my computer slows WAY down and stops responding. I don't have any other issues with my computer. I think it's since the dailies have introduced the videos before the entry is submitted. I tend to open lots of tabs because it's become sooooo time consuming. It's got to the point now where I can only enter maybe up to four mags before my computer crashes. Any ideas? What are the rest of you doing? Hubby has suggested that I do the magazine dailies in two or three sittings, but to be honest, I'd rather get it all over and done with. Disappointed coz I've won from the daily comps in the past and I'm giving up now before the half of them are done.
Cheers guys. xx

I've just started doing the dailies again and i love the videos
I was having a problem with comping (in general) and opening several tabs when using safari (used to crash, freeze e.t.c)
Ever since i switched to chrome, i haven't had the same issues and it all seems to run a lot smoother.0 -
I use a very old laptop and cannot open more than about 8 or ten tabs at once, before it grinds to a halt, so when I do the mag daillies, I bookmark them in folders of about 8 or 10 per folder. (I am using firefox).0

I'm using Chrome... @simply-tash: I don't mind the videos per se, it just means I'm spending more time comping than I did before, plus it seems to be the same video over and over LOL! Interesting that your experience improved with chrome though. Wonder why I keep crashing then? Thanks to all of you for posting the competitions! Really appreciate it. :lovethoug0

Either upgrade your Ram or do like me & ignore the daily mag comps :-)
Upgrade the RAM via these: http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/
I used them on my last PC & it did not cost a lot.0 -
Thanks weeowens. Will give it a go. And thank you so much for posting so many comps. xxThanks to all of you for posting the competitions! Really appreciate it. :lovethoug0

Cheers.
It should just be the RAM as that worked on mine.I had no need to upgrade the graphics card to get a result.0 -
And don't forget to give your disk a clean, and clear all your cookies, cache and history.
They build up quickly with comping and will slow you down.
Make sure Java and Adobe are up to date too.0 -

.
Good thinking.I used to use this: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Since I got a new PC nearly two years back I have not had need to use it though.
8GB of RAM helps though :-)0 -
I use the ccleaner too, and it's brilliant.
There's a free version that is fine for what I need.0
