VW Finance deal & "free" servicing

The wife is buying a motor, 62-plate VM Polo 1.2 manual.
Salesman says if you get £5k of finance you get 1st 2 services free "worth" £300 , but can repay all the finance etc after 3 payments and then it has only cost you about £244. (But he was a tad vague on actual charges & interest payments). (She has the full price to buy & we don't need finance).
So a "free" £56 for filling in some forms...
Anyone care to comment on the veracity of the salesman's assertions??
Regards & thanks in advance...

The salesman is incorrect. You can sign the agreement and then you have 14 days to exercise a right to withdraw from the agreement, as long as you pay the finance back. You should get to keep the free servicing too even by paying back within 14 days. I did this last year with a new motorcycle that had a £800 deposit contribution. I notified the fianc! company that I wished to withdraw, paid up in full with just a small interest charge to pay and I still retained the deposit contribution."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

What is the service schedule on a Polo at the age? Will you be planning on keeping the car for that length of time?
also, how much are the services?
The first finance payment will generally be higher as they sometimes include a "set up fee"0 -

Depends on whether it is the mileage based or condition based. It is normally set up for the mileage based services when they offer the free service package so that will mean 10000 miles or annually if the mileage limit isn't reached."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

In the end after getting an email stating next 2 services (20k/24months & 30k/36months) without extras would cost about £550 and the wife would be net £300 ahead we decided not to.
Why? Well, 2 'phone calls to 2 other local VW main dealers (1 in same chain) gave the next 2 services as less than £300 .. and I don't knowingly do business with cheats, racists or bigots (can't say about the 2nd two categories...).
We arrived, filled in paperwork etc etc & then got very hard sell asserting we were the first people for ages not to take the finance deal. Not impressed, I can only assume VW finance pay attractive boni... Told wife if the numbers turn out different I'll pay.

How long do you plan on keeping the car?0

If you cancel it within 14 days it costs you nothing, no set up, no interest, nothing, but you still get the free servicing.
We took it on the wife's tiguan, and because the car is almost a year old, they made it 2x free service and 1x free MOT.
All you need to make sure is that you cancel it within 14 days, or you will have to pay the various fees.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0
