wet or dry cat/kitten food

Thanks for the various links. Currently he's on Felix as he wouldn't eat anything else.
Is normal for them to go a but mental after eating? I mean he has food then starts tearing round the room or crying under the sofa. Is this all down to him not being with his family?0 -
Can't say I recall mine going mental after eating as kittens. Maybe he's just got lots of energy and is happy after enjoying his grub!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Any more posts you want to make on something you obviously know very little about?"
Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.

Sounds like a mad half hour to me. Lots of cats do this.0

My vet said NO dried food because it can cause kidney problems. I feed decent (Bozita) wet food only. I tried my girl on raw but she's not been keen so she's back to Bozita which she loves.
Bear in mind if the cat is used to something like Felix or Whiskas they'll likely need weaning of that if you want to change. i.e they'll turn their nose up at a straight swap.
As GlynD says the behaviour is commonly called the mad half hour. Lots of cats do it, lol.0 -
Mad half hour sounds completely normal to me. When we got Gizmo at 12 weeks old he used to tear around the house and he couldn't sit still for long, I used to joke that he had kitty ADHD. He's now nearly 13 months old and still runs around the house dashing randomly from one room to another. He follows me around the house on a weekend but dashes from one room to the next and then comes back and looks at me as if to say "hurry up".0

Funny, we tried our two on raw because that's what people say is best. They both turn their noses up at it, won't even eat a raw egg.
I've come to the conclusion that, natural diet or not, cats can express a preference: but sure we all know that anyway.

We actually managed to get ours to eat raw but only by mixing it with Bozita and gradually decreasing the Bozita and increasing the raw. When we'd forgotten to defrost the raw and gave her Bozita instead it was always wolfed down whereas the raw appeared to be tolerated.
Being a cat though she would turn her nose up at raw then go and catch a bird and eat it :rotfl:.0 -

Or you'll find a headless mouse on the kitchen floor. :rotfl:0
